Pediatrics

"peds"

Do you like kids? We love kids! Our trainees team up with the pediatric hospitalist for every newborn, child, and teen in the hospital. They handle all admissions and assist in all emergencies. If a child is too sick, our trainees learn to stabilize them and transfer them to the regional Children’s Hospital, providing practical family medicine skills.

Comprehensive Training

Residency outpatient care involves working with our community pediatricians and managing the busy Altoona and Williamsburg offices. Our trainees follow at least 5 continuity newborns on their outpatient panels. Those with a particular interest can rotate in the Children’s Hospital emergency room or NICU in Pittsburgh or pursue a Pediatrics ICC. Our practical pediatrics experience is hands-on and enjoyable.
