I chose AFP because they offered the whole package for me: rural medicine opportunities, strong OB, lifestyle medicine, not far from home, and good resident benefits! I eventually want to practice full-spectrum rural family medicine, and AFP is known in PA for producing well-trained physicians; they offer a rural continuity clinic for those residents with this interest. I also enjoyed my (virtual) interview with the program the most out of all of my interviews and came out feeling like I’d fit in well with the faculty and residents, which also played a big part in ranking them #1.
Hiking and other outdoor activities, visiting local breweries and wineries, watching sports especially hockey and college football, gym time, and traveling/exploring when I have time
