Family Medicine Interests

As an integral part of our team-based primary care, I co-manage the diabetes and weight management clinics with a focus on comprehensive cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) management. I also round twice weekly with the inpatient family medicine team and provide dedicated pharmacotherapy education during resident didactics. My clinical interests include lifestyle medicine, evidence-based medicine, transitions of care, substance use disorders, and self-care pharmacotherapy. Beyond direct patient care, I advocate fiercely for equitable healthcare access, focusing on mitigating disparities, addressing social determinants of health, and ensuring medication affordability for rural and underserved populations. Professionally, I champion the integration of pharmacists as essential primary care providers through active involvement in the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP)

Hobbies

I am a proud millennial nerd who loves tinkering with technology and playing tabletop role-playing games. A dedicated music geek, my playlists span technical rock and metal, punk/hardcore/emo, alt-country, and jazz. Away from my screens, I dive into DIY home improvement projects, automotive wrenching, and amateur photography. I also enjoy traveling with my family to national parks and historical sites, exploring local breweries, and spending time outdoors. Above all, I am a proud human and guinea pig parent+

Why do you enjoy working at AFP?

AFP empowers me to practice at the top of my license in a truly collaborative environment. I value the balance of maintaining meaningful, direct patient interactions while applying my advanced clinical training. Teaching is a particular highlight; I thrive on helping resident physicians navigate complex, medication-related challenges. Furthermore, our supportive faculty and collaborative atmosphere have provided excellent platforms to advance the profession, including presenting at conferences and completing research on the impact of clinical pharmacists in rural care
