My initial awareness of UPMC Altoona Family Medicine Residency came from its strong reputation among my colleagues in Philadelphia. The program is known for producing some of the best, most caring physicians in this specialty. After personally meeting and working with a few graduates, I quickly knew that AFP's reputation was well substantiated. I was drawn to AFP because of the program's extensive training in inpatient medicine in a sizeable academic regional hospital, juxtaposed with its setting in scenic Western Pennsylvania. I chose AFP because it offers both rigorous training and a supportive atmosphere for learning.
