Family Medicine is one of the specialties I found that provided the opportunity to provide continuity of care for a vast array of patients. The addition of obstetrical care that is provided by AFP solidified my decision as it allows for an additional level of continuity. Aside from the opportunities offered by the program, the very supportive and family-oriented atmosphere of Altoona secured my decision especially coming from the Caribbean. Everyone treats you like family leaving little room for you to feel home sick.
