Why did you choose AFP?

As a Transitional Year resident ultimately specializing in Radiology, I wanted an internship with broad exposure to a variety of specialties and patients. At AFP, we get exposure to adult inpatient and outpatient medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and can do elective rotations in a number of specialties. We have access to the larger UPMC network for even more elective opportunities. Since the program is unopposed, we don’t have to “compete” with residents of other specialties for learning opportunities. I enjoy working with my co-residents and faculty; many of them are now good friends outside of work. Living in Altoona itself is also very enjoyable with lots of outdoor activities and a relaxed atmosphere.
